|Ovation Systems have been awarded a contract to supply the UK’s Metropolitan Police Service with the new evidentially secure digital video recorder - “AfterBurner-2”, in a contract worth GBP 700K over 2 years.

Several thousand “AfterBurner-1s” are now in operation with all UK police forces and many other law enforcement agencies around the world. Such was the commercial and technical success of AfterBurner-1, Ovation Systems was presented with a Queen's Award for Innovation in 2008.
The new contract is for the supply of "AfterBurner-2, which retains all the key features of its predecessor with the addition of an internal 4 camera video quad with zone motion detection. Connectivity has been enhanced with USB-2 interfaces for local viewing and file download together with an Ethernet port for remote control and configuration over the Internet. AfterBurner-2 is ideal for long-term, evidentially sensitive, serious and organised crime surveillance operations and meets the Digital Imaging Guidelines set by the UK Home Office.
Gordon Moore, UK Sales manger, said "we are thrilled to be working again with the MET Police on AfterBurner-2. Over the past 4 years we have built up a very strong, professional working relationship and their input has certainly helped make AfterBurner the success that it is. Even more pleasing is the units are making a real contribution to the MET's efforts in the fight against serious and organized crime. We are delighted to have been awarded this contract and look forward to an ongoing and positive partnership".
